¿Deberías limpiarte el rostro de forma diferente en verano que en invierno?

Should you cleanse your face differently in summer than in winter?

Finally! Summer is here, and the temperatures are proof of it. It's time to plan your vacations, weekend getaways, and... stock up on sunscreen to avoid burning. You may also need to change some products in your skincare routine depending on where you're going, especially your moisturizer if the weather is more or less humid . Cosmetologist and technical director of Skin Generics and CEO of BeLab Services, Daniel Jiménez, also recommends paying attention to facial cleansing, as frequent use of sunscreen in the summer requires a deeper cleanse to avoid blemishes and clogged pores.

WHAT SHOULD YOU CHANGE WHEN CLEANSING YOUR FACE IN SUMMER?

It's important to double cleanse, especially this time of year. Sunscreen and makeup are heavy and can cause breakouts or blackheads if not removed properly. According to Jiménez, gel cleansers aren't sufficient for these textures, so she recommends using oil cleansers.

IS TONER A CLEANSER?

This is a very common question, but no, your toner isn't a cleanser and doesn't properly remove makeup ; it only tones your skin. According to Daniel Jiménez, it's ideal to use after double cleansing to restore the skin's pH and prepare it for subsequent serums and creams .

IS IT ONLY WORTH MICELLAR WATER?

Micellar water isn't enough as a sole cleanser either. Micellar water contains molecules that attract dirt, but it's not as effective as a cream, balm, or oil-based makeup remover. However, micellar water is a good option as a second cleansing step. You should also rinse your face after using it , as most contain saponins, which can affect skin's balance if not rinsed off after use, according to Jiménez.
